SIW Vegetables Farm Stand to Close

After nearly 40 years of dedicated service to the Chadds Ford area, H.G. Haskell III, has announced his retirement from farming and the closing of the SIW Vegetables Farm Stand.

SIW Vegetables has been offering seasonal produce, homemade goods, and a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike since 1986. From its humble beginnings, to becoming a landmark in the region, Haskell has worked tirelessly to provide the highest quality produce, while fostering a love for farming and sustainable agriculture.

"It has been an incredible journey," said HaskelI. "I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many local chefs and so many wonderful people from this community. We’ve seen the farm grow and change over the years, and weathered many challenges, but our commitment to providing fresh, nutritious food has always remained the same. I’m grateful for all the support from our customers, and I will miss seeing everyone come through the stand each week."

SIW Vegetables has been known for its diverse offerings, including heirloom tomatoes, Dr. Martin’s lima beans, sweet corn, pumpkins, and figs, all grown right on the farm. The stand was a gathering place for many, where customers could not only shop for their weekly produce, but also connect with friends and neighbors.

Haskell’s decision to retire comes after careful consideration, and while the closing of SIW Vegetables farm stand will mark the end of an era, the legacy of the farm will live on in the hearts of the community. H.G. and his family have expressed their deep gratitude to their loyal customers, neighbors, employees, and everyone who has supported the farm over the years.

SIW is still making decisions about the events side of the business and plans to keep everyone apprised as soon as more information is available. For more information, please visit the farm’s website or follow SIW Vegetables on social media for updates.
